Sinojackia rehderiana grows to be an unusual and handsome garden tree which usually requires a warm, sheltered position in the UK.

  • Position: Sheltered in full sun or light, dappled shade.
  • Soil: Moist, fertile, lime free soil. Avoid waterlogged areas.

  • Rate of Growth: Slow to moderate.
  • Habit: Sinojackia rehderiana eventually grows to be a large upright shrub or very small tree.
    • Height: up to 3 - 5 m (10 - 16 ft) in many years
    • Spread: 2.5 - 3 m (8 - 10 ft)
  • Notes: Sinojackia rehderiana is a tricky plant to grow well in the U.K. and is best attempted by experienced gardeners who are prepared to protect it from late spring frosts & severe cold.
