Prunus x yedoensis 'Caroline'

New to us, this is a superb small, deciduous tree with a upright habit and beautiful flowers in mid Spring which are pale pink in bud opening to white. Established specimens are covered with masses of flowers.

The summer leaves are dark green in colour with orange and purple autumn tints before they fall. Excellent flowering garden tree.

• Position: Full sun or light, dappled shade.
• Soil: Any fertile soil.
• Hardiness: Hardy.
• Flowering Period: Late March - April.
• Flower Colour: Pink in bud opening to white
• Rate of Growth: Moderate.
• Habit: Prunus x yedoensis 'Caroline' grows to be a small upright tree.

  • Spread: 4 - 5 m (13 - 16 ft)
