A truly spectacular small tree, Prunus x 'Shirotae' has distinctive horizontal branches, some eventually arching to the ground, festooned with slightly fragrant, semi-double, large white flowers in spring. The leaves are bright green, turning shades of bronze yellow or orange before falling in autumn.

Prunus x 'Shirotae' grows into an elegant garden tree and is a wonderful sight to behold in April when in full flower!

Position: Full sun or light, dappled shade.
Soil: Any fertile soil. Tolerates damp but well drained soil. Avoid waterlogged areas.
Hardiness: Hardy.
Flowering Period: April - May.
Flower Colour: White
Rate of Growth: Moderate.
Habit: Prunus x 'Shirotae' grows to be a small branching tree with a spreading habit once established.
- Height: up to 6 m (20 ft)
- Spread: 8 m (26 ft)

Notes: Prunus x 'Shirotae' are known for their vigorous root systems and should not be planted over drains or close to house foundations.
