A rare plant in the UK, Lindera obtusiloba is a large deciduous shrub with dark green, broad, usually three-lobed leaves which turn vivid shades of butter-yellow in the autumn. Small clusters of yellow flowers adorn the bare stems in late spring.

Native to parts of China, Japan and Korea, Lindera obtusiloba is a choice shrub with handsome yellow autumn colour and grows well in sun or partial shade. This is a fickle plant in the U.K. in our experience and only recommended for keen gardeners.
