New to us, this is a lovely semi-evergreen shrub or very small tree once established which develops arching, semi-pendulous branches once established and has masses of lovely white flowers in summer.

Reasonably hardy but requires shelter from strong winds. 


  • Position: Sheltered position in full sun or light, dappled shade.
  • Soil: Well drained, fertile soil.
  • Hardiness: Reasonably hardy. Hoheria sexstylosa 'Pendula' requires shelter from cold winter winds and can drop some leaves in cold winters.
  • Flowering Period: July - August.
  • Rate of Growth: Moderate.
  • Habit: Hoheria sexstylosa 'Pendula' is often upright initially gradually developing into a large shrub or eventually, small tree with arching branches.
