Acer palmatum 'Beni-maiko'

(Japanese Maple) A lovely elegant maple with scarlet red leaves when they emerge in Spring, darkening to purplish-green in summer with vibrant orange and red autumn colour as the leaves fall in autumn. Compact in habit this is a small shrub in the short term or medium sized once established.

A superb shrub which gives plenty of early foliage colour to a garden. Grows well in a large container.

• Soil: Well drained, fertile soil.
• Hardiness: Hardy. Acer palmatum 'Beni-maiko' requires shelter from strong winter winds.
