(Japanese Maple) In spring the young leaves of this classic maple cultivar emerge a vivid rich-red in colour. As summer progresses the older leaves darken to green but the young shoots are still tipped with burnished-red young leaves. The leaves finally turn shades of red and orange in autumn before falling.
A superb shrub which gives plenty of early foliage colour to a garden and is one of the most traditional plants to be grow as a bonsai. Grows well in a large container.
