Features
- Common name: Golden Indian Bean Tree.
- Position: Full sun. This Catalpa will grow in partial shade, but the leaves will be a lime green colour rather than gold.
- Soil: Fertile, well drained soil.
- Hardiness: Reasonably hardy. This Catalpa requires a sheltered position in Northern parts of the U.K. and grows best when planted in a position protected from strong winds.
- Flowering Period: June - July.
- Flower Colour: White with occasional yellow and purple markings

- Notes: A specimen of Catalpa bignonioides 'Aurea', planted in the woodland garden surrounding our nursery had reached a height of 3 m, a spread of 2.5 m after 12 years.
